Consul General visits HCBoys’

24th Oct 2024
Helena Nolan Consul General, based in NYC and with responsibility for the States of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Ohio visited HCB today. Helena, husband Sami and Andrew Elliot (NI executive office) were delighted to meet Young Plato stars Conor Larkin, Alfie Russell Monteith and Ruairi Larkin. The team were treated to a philosophy enquiry from Mr Magennis’ class based on Happiness and indeed were forthcoming with their own critical, creative and caring thinking. Lorcan asked Helena, ‘What makes you happy?’
Helena enthralled the boys with an answer about being in the presence of engaged, concentrated and happy children which made her very happy.
The team toured the school and were extremely complimentary about the wall displays outside the classrooms. The conversations were about the marvellous themes, the balance & coordination, spacing & layout and the amazing work from the children.
The school would like to thank Helena, Sami and Andrew for taking the time to visit the school. The boys were in awe of your philosophical contributions!!
