HCB pupils visit the relic of St. Bernadette

HCB pupils visit the relic of St. Bernadette

P7 pupils from Holy Cross Boys’ P.S., Holy Cross Girls’ P.S. and Mercy P.S. attended St Mary’s church in Castle Lane to visit the relic of St. Bernadette. This is the first time this relic has ever come to Ireland, so it was a very special occasion.

Fr. Timothy Bartlett warmly welcomed the boys and girls and told the congregation that his father & mother came from Ardoyne and attended the local schools.

He then blessed the congregation with holy water from Lourdes, where Saint Bernadette had eighteen apparitions of Our Lady, whom she called “The beautiful lady.”

The pupils received a photo of Saint Bernadette and a medal.
