Past pupils return to HCB for Careers Week

23rd Apr 2024

Former pupil, boxing champion and author, Eamonn McAuley, addressed the boys today and mentioned the former teachers who taught him in HCB, including Mr McCurdy and Mr Dore (RIP). He also reminisced about the time that he helped HCB collect the NI Cup back in 1976 and encouraged the boys to work hard in school. Eamon shared some of his writing and poetry with us, captivating adults and children alike in the hall.

Two other past HCB pupils, Thomas Turley (Ardoyne Youth Enterprise Director) and Joe McNeill (Ardoyne Youth club leader) returned to the school to impart some brilliant knowledge and advice to the boys, as part of our Careers Week. The boys listened with interest and particularly enjoyed the discussion and video on the R-CITY Programme, which is a youth project based in Belfast focusing on good relations, leadership & positive youth.

Thank you, Thomas, Joe and Eamonn.
